Grandma’s Secrets – Part Two

Remedies for a flawless, glowing skin

Exfoliate your skin

Take a packet of instant oatmeal: add a half cup of water, two tablespoons of yoghurt, two tablespoons of honey and one egg white. Mix well. Apply a thin layer to your face. Leave on the skin for about 15 minutes; rinse your face with warm water.

A Facial mask for oily skin

Mix one medium size grated apple with five tablespoons of honey. Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water.

Home remedies to clear pimples

Put a dab of toothpaste on spots and leave overnight. This helps to dry out the spot and calm the redness. Another favourite, one that I prefer, is to dab tea tree or lavender oil on spots, the oils have anti-inflammatory and calming properties.

A facial mask for dehydrated skin

Mix together one egg, one teaspoon of honey, half a teaspoon of olive oil and a few drops of rosewater. Apply to your skin and leave it on for 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water.

A facial mask for normal skin

Dip lettuce leaves in olive oil, sprinkle with a few drops of lemon juice. Place the leaves on both sides of the face and leave for 10 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water.
