Review, Commit and Benefit

It seems that most of us give very little attention to planning the direction of our lives. Few people have much of a strategy, instead many people live from hand to mouth, are always at the end of their tether and at the end of their line.

Yet when we are driving, we know where we want to go and we plot out our route. When we plan and prepare a meal, we follow a recipe and monitor the food as it cooks. Organizing is important it is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up.

Taking the time to review our quality of life gives us a chance to re-evaluate what we are doing and where we want to go. It lets us fine-tune our direction, to ensure we are on track for what we most want.

Think about your last 6 months. What did you learn? What would you like to do differently? Where do you want to recommit? It is good to have a plan, and believe in it for nothing much happens by accident.

Hi Kate – well you have made me think!   What has most affected me in the last six monthes? How have I benefited from it?   It is an interesting exercise!   Will it make me a better person in 2007? I hope so.   I wish I had had the benefit of this many years experience in my youth, LOL that is another way of saying ‘If I was young and know what I know now’ well I would be positivly dangerous!   You can of course try to pass the benefit of your experiences on to the young – but of course they don’t want to know, they have to learn by their own mistakes. which is the best way.   I think the most important thing I discovered was that I could and did let go of a destractive relationship, but I also acknowledge the benefits gained.   I’m rambling again!!

    Happy new year

    Susan,
How I enjoy you! And yes there is much truth in what you say. In conclusion it is about taking what is right for you from the wisdom of others, knowing that your path/journey through this life is yours and yours alone….
Take care and all the best for 2007.
    Kate
