Pain, attention, change

Our lives really begin to change when we learn to shift our perspective on ‘problems.’ The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem.

From the spiritual perspective, problems offer our best path to growth. Like it or not, pain gets our attention. Pain also challenges the ego’s perception that it is in complete control of life. This opens the door for soul’s guidance.

If we want to be rid of the pain, we must do the work that leads us to greater consciousness. Paradoxically, we can only get rid of the pain by moving through it.

The next time you feel “poor me,” stop and ask, “What needs to change? And remember too that we cant go back and make a brand new start, but anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

Most people fix a problem,by sticking a patch on it, better still, look away in the hope it goes away. The only way to truly extinguish the problem is too eliminate the root cause. The more severe the pruning the better the harvest.
Thank you for your greetings, the day was ……well, quiet. My 3 children rang in the evening which was nice. I did nt go out, I must remember that most people still have to work and tend not to relish a late night in the middle of the week!!
I set to and cooked a sirloin steak with mushrooms & salad and washed it down with a white burgandy. Not one for meat/wine etiquette, unless I’m out to impress! Champagne is nt one of my favourite tipples – I undestand why those that can afford it, spray it around instead of drinking it.  Thank you for the toast. Must be on my way around the globe and thank all those who visited…..perhaps I should have a red tunic …..!
