Experience the stillness

Do you take the time to find a little daily ‘stillness’ each and every week? Most of us don’t yet the benefit to our overall wellbeing is more valuable than gold.

Our minds are always busy, therefore not afforded the time to do basic maintenance, to sort, tidy up and take out the trash. But if we don’t periodically clear out space in our minds, there’s no room for new ideas to take root. We will just keep paddling around in the same muddy pool preventing us from moving forward.

Our greatest wealth is the deep stillness in which we strive and grow and win what the world cannot take from us. At times, to achieve peace of mind we need to resign as general manager if the universe.

Plan a little quiet time, relaxation and stillness daily, even if it’s only for 5 or 10 minutes, the benefits are rewarding.

I call it my elevenses…Coffee time! Sunday is most precious – thats when the computer is off and the phone is on – catching up with my children and family gossip.

Stillness is the most difficult thing to find, for me anyway. Even things i relax doing usually involve movement, dancing, walking etc & i find i am still working my mind even then. The only thing that stopped it was yoga, or bellydancing.

Five minutes of quiet time and relaxation during the working day.. that’d be coffee with Kate (and the most excellent Jack Johnson of course).
Or fencing of course… but then that can cut either way… 🙂

    Hi Kate,
Following yout advice, I am trying to take a little rest or stillness many times a day. The first  day, I feel It recharges the mind and the body. Many little rests per day should be  is equivalent to a few hours of sleep ! I enjoy it.
    Take care and kind regards,
