Calm your mind with focus and breathing

This is an easy-to-do meditation technique that only requires you to do it once a day for 5 minutes, but it works even better if you give it 20 minutes, twice a day.

This exercise will benefit your whole body; leaving you feeling refreshed and will enhance clarity of mind. Every technique, which helps to relax the mind and quieten the rush of thoughts, will lead to increased levels of happiness. Developing concentration by engagement in meditation is a means towards this goal.

Find a quiet, comfortable place, where you won’t be distracted. Sit with your back straight. Place your hands in a comfortable position. Allow your eyes to rest looking comfortably downward, gazing softly but not focused on anything. Let your breathing become deep and rhythmic. It’s okay to let your attention drift, but stay relaxed. If your eyes become heavy, let them close. Don’t worry about doing ‘it’ right. You simply want to clear your head, and relax. When the ability to have a quiet mind under all circumstances is gained, one enjoys constant happiness, no matter what you are doing or where you are.

Every technique, which helps to relax the mind and quieten the rush of thoughts, will lead to happiness. Developing concentration and engagement in meditation is a powerful means towards this goal.

This process is quite attainable, but to gain peace and happiness you need to work towards it. Take the first step today, happiness will start to fill your life.
